Year-end message from Albert Hollander, CEO of Stoffenmanager®
Dear customers, partners, and relations,
As 2024 draws to a close, it’s a perrfect moment to reflect on what we’ve achieved together and to look ahead to what lies before us.
This past year felt like an Olympic year for me. The Olympic Games were a source of inspiration: the immense dedication of athletes, their hope for success, and how they handle setbacks. It made me think about our own work—the commitment it takes to support organizations in managing hazardous substances. The road to success is not without challenges, but by working together, we continue to make progress.
For Stoffenmanager®, 2024 was a year of growth and collaboration. We welcomed 18% more new users, with half of them coming from abroad. I’m proud that we could help these users get started with our free version and support. We also saw a strong increase in the demand for courses, both in-company and on-site at our new office. It’s been fantastic to host groups of people, fostering the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
In addition, we’ve made significant strides in consultancy and partnerships. By collaborating more closely with our partners, we’ve enhanced our ability to support businesses on the work floor. Each partner contributes their unique expertise, enabling us to truly help our customers move forward. Other examples of progress include our project with IFA to develop new models for respirable dust and advancing our work on biological agents. The ambitious ExpACT project, where we and our partners explore the "exposome," highlights our commitment to scientifically backed solutions for a safer working environment.
We also see companies taking a more serious approach to personal exposure dossiers and seeking our guidance in this area—an initiative we fully support! The appointment of Frits van Rooy as Professor of Early Detection and Prevention of Occupational Diseases at Utrecht University underscores the importance of this development. Together with our partners and clients, we’ll continue to drive these forward-looking initiatives in the coming year.
The topic of hazardous substances has been in the spotlight again this year. The ongoing debate about occupational safety regulations and administrative burdens shows that there’s still much to be done. We believe businesses can play a major role, for example, by efficiently exchanging SDS information via XML files rather than PDFs, which require time-consuming manual data entry. This is already possible! Let’s work together in the new year to reduce administrative burdens and improve efficiency.
With all these developments in mind, I look forward to 2025 with confidence. There is much to tackle, but there is also so much to gain. Let’s face these challenges together with the same perseverance and hope that inspired me in the Olympic Games.
I want to thank you for your trust in Stoffenmanager®. On behalf of the entire team, I wish you and your loved ones a healthy, safe, and successful new year.
Warm regards,
Albert Hollander
